About Resource
The Yale Program on Climate Change Communication (YPCCC) conducts scientific research on public climate change knowledge, attitudes, policy preferences, and behaviors and the underlying psychological, cultural, and political factors that influence them. This website houses a repository for YPCCC research findings dating from 2004 in the form of map visualizations, written reports, and a slew of educational tools and digital interactives.
How to Use
The YPCCC is a rich resource for climate change education and communication practitioners. Access the Climate Opinion Maps for clear data and visuals (maps) to help inform outreach and education strategies around climate change science and solutions and to understand current levels of belief, risk perception, and policy support from the national level down to the county level. For added detail, access the Climate Change in the American Mind report, released twice annually. And for daily climate news reporting and commentary, visit the Climate Connections podcast.
Navigate to the Resources for Educators page for tools aimed to “immerse students in climate change issues in an accessible, digestible, and interactive way.” Here, find resources produced in partnership with educators across the country to suit your community’s needs and help your students enhance their climate science and communication literacy. Notable among the other Tools & Resources offered include Climate Opinion Factsheets, for quick summative reference specific to your local county; and the Six Americas Super Short Survey (SASSY!), designed to help individuals understand their personal climate views in comparison with other Americans.
